BREA Meet Volunteer Sign-ups

It’s that time again for us to host our annual Brea Meet. For those that don't know, we host a meet annually and this year it will be on November 5 and 6, 2011 at the Brea Pool. PLEASE NOTE: It may say the meet will be at the Mt. Sac Pool on the meet forms and the website but the meet is at the BREA POOL. The Brea Pool is located at Brea High School, 789 Wildcat Way, Brea, CA 92821.
As you may know, all meets whether we host or not require family participation. Family participation enables us to run a smooth and successful meet. Your participation is deeply appreciated is vital to your swimmer having a great swim meet. Each family is required to sign up and complete at least 4 hours of voluenteer work for the entire meet (typically 2 - 2 hour sessions). These hours may be completed all in one day or split in two days. You may choose the same task or two different tasks, as long as you fulfill a total of 4 hours. PLEASE NOTE: The 4 hours of voluenteer work at our hosted meet do not count towards your annual 20 hour timing commitment.
As with previous years, sign up will be on a first come first serve basis. We will open the signup on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. and will keep the sign up open on a voluntary basis until Friday, October 21, 2011. Families that have not yet signed up for 4 hours of work by Friday, October 21, 2011 will be assigned sessions by the meet directors based on the remaining sessions and needs.
To ensure that every family does their fair share in supporting the team, we will charge $50 to your account for each 2 hour session not completed. Being out of town, sick, conflict of schedule, or any other unavailable reason will not exempt families from the charge. We would prefer your help and support rather than your monetary contribution. Please do your best to ensure attendance from the swimmers and duties assigned during the meet. We look forward to another great meet from our swimmers and a well run meet by our families.
To assist you in your selection, a brief duty description is provided for each assignment category (see attachment). We ask everyone to be flexible as some of your shifts may end or start a bit sooner or later than scheduled (especially, end of morning session and beginning of the afternoon events). Also, please keep in mind there may be changes/adjustments in the assignment categories (in terms of time slots and/or duties), resulting from participant turnouts and efficiency needs to run a smooth meet. Instructions to sign up are as follows:
Log In :
Go to member area.
Sign in as normal.
Click on "Events".
Under the "Nov 5 ~ Nov 6, 2010 - Brea BRW Meet" event select "Job Signup”.
To sign up for a job :
Those jobs marked with "---------" are available for sign up.
Click on the checkbox in front of the empty slot you want to sign up for.
Click on the "Signup" button.
Click "OK" on the "Please confirm" alert box.
To remove your selection :
Click on your name that is highlighted in BOLD.
Click on "Remove Signup".
Click "OK" on the "Please confirm" alert box.
A well-run meet will provide a positive environment for the swimmers to perform in. Your help not only fulfills obligations as a team member, it also shows support for your swimmer(s) and their teammates.
