Jim Johnson, Head Coach, National Group (Mt. SAC)
Jim came to Gemini Aquatics, early in 1991. After the merge of Brea Aquatics and Gemini Aquatics, Jim became the head coach of the new Brea Aquatics.
Having graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Physical Education, Jim is currently working on his thesis for completion of his Masters Degree in Physical Education from California State University, Chico.
Prior to joining Gemini Aquatics, Jim was Assistant Men’s Swim Coach at Cal. State, Chico and Head Coach of the Paradise Piranha Swim Team in Northern California. He spent 3 years as Head Coach of the Swim Team of Placentia.
Jim’s coaching credentials are surpassed only by his achievements as a swimmer. He was a High School All-American for 2 years, a NCAA Div. I All-American for 3 years, a member of the United States National Team from 1976-1981, and an Olympic Trials finalist in 1980. The extensive experience as a coach and as a swimmer that Jim has brought to Brea has already borne fruit, with two Junior National Qualifiers and outstanding performances by our team at Junior Olympics and Q meets. Under Jim’s guidance Brea Aquatics is already well on its way to becoming one of the top teams in Southern California.
Jodi Lepp, Senior Coach (Mt. SAC)
Jodi Lepp has extensive experience running swim programs. She was the head coach of the Industry Hills Summer Program, head coach of the Buzzard Peak Swim Team, and is currently the head coach of the Mount San Antonio College Swim Team.
Jodi has joined Brea Aquatics as Assistant Head Coach in charge of the Brea High School pool.
Conway Yeo, Age Group Select (Mt. SAC)
Conway swam for Industry Hills Aquatics for many years, swam for the Mt. SAC swim team, and is currently studying kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton. He has extensive knowledge of the sport and experience coaching young swimmers.
Beth Limahelu, Pre-Senior and Bronze Groups (Mt. SAC)
Beth has been a coach for Brea Aquatics since 2003 and has also coached at Rowland High School for two years. Her love for the sport developed when she began swimming for Streamline Aquatics where she swam for 5 years. She loves coaching and is constantly eager to learn and absorb everything that she can from the experienced and talented coaches she has met along the way… and of course, that includes Coach Jim. Beth is currently a student at Cal Poly Pomona majoring in Biology with her sights set on teaching.
Beth’s hobbies are reading, writing, gardening, and dancing. She loves nature and spends most of her days outdoors at the beach, taking photos, biking, hiking, and camping with her son."
Krystal Hong, Gold Group (Mt. SAC)
Krystal began swimming at the age of five. She started competing at the age of six. Krystal swam in the Waikiki Rough Water competition three years in a row starting from age twelve. She competed for Kaimuki High School and made state championships every year. Krystal is currently attending Cal State Fullerton.
April Batson, Silver Group (Mt. SAC)
April started swimming competitively at the age of 6; she continued up through high school. After high school graduation, she began coaching at the YMCA in their Learn To Swim Programs. While participating in the YMCA programs she fell in love with coaching, teaching kids and passing along the knowledge she received during her own personal experiences.
April has also coached a variety of other sports, such as soccer, football and volleyball. April holds a degree in Recreation and Leisure Services from Cal State Long Beach. She currently works for the City of Diamond Bar in the Community Services Department. April's previous coaching position for BREA was Bronze level in 05-06.
In April's free time you can find her hanging out with her friends, riding her bike at the beach and watching the Lakers.
Jessica Hebert, Silver & Bronze Groups (Brea High School)
Coach Jessica Hebert has been swimming competitively for the last 7 years. Winning her individual events at High School league championships almost every year, she is still swimming competitively with Mt. San Antonio College and was just inducted into the All- American swimming team in the 2009 season.
She has coached and taught swimming for the last 3 summers, working with various age groups. Jessica is currently attending Mt. Sac and waiting for acceptance into the Registered Nursing program.
